This health problem is described by the medical profession as a Non-Epileptic seizure. So it isn't classic epilepsy, but it does have a neurological cause. Another term tagged onto this particular diagnosis is "psychogenic" because they say it comes from mental stress and/or emotional tension. Years ago, these types of seizure attacks were called Pseudoseizures.
So, for some reason they have a new fancy name: PNES or Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures. I don't blame you for being a bit suspicious of this and many other medical diagnoses...
