2010 U.S. Census data for Arkansas Rogers Lowell Bentonville Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce

As you've probably heard by now, the United States census data has been compiled from the 2010 headcount. The change in overall population pushed the USA over 300 million for the 1st time in history. The fastest growth areas are reported in the Southern and Western regions of the country.

Arkansas reported a 9.1 percent increase in population since 2000, totaling 2,915,918 people for the state. While many places around AR saw a loss of population, there was a significant concentration of growth in NW Arkansas and also in the counties around Little Rock.

Rogers is now the 8th largest city in the state with 55,924 people. Their 44.1% growth rate added 17,135 people over the 2000 Census count, allowing Rogers to advance from their former ninth place population ranking.

Bentonville saw even more explosive growth during the last decade with an amazing 78.9% increase (adding 15,571 residents to the previous headcount of 19,730 in the 2000 Census).
This record percentage increase brought the population to 35,301 total people and propelled Bentonville into the top 10 incorporated places in Arkansas from a 19th position only 10 years ago!

Bella Vista is no longer just a "sleepy little recreation community" bordering the Missouri state line. Our newest incorporated town in the state saw 9,879 new residents added for a 59.6% increase, the 2nd highest growth rate in AR (behind Bentonville). This lifted Bella Vista to the 17th largest town in Arkansas, making it the 5th largest community in the entire NWA region.

Benton County has grown to be the 2nd most populous county in Arkansas. Benton County's phenomenal growth rate of 44.3% over the decade, brings our population to 221,339.
Washington County enjoyed a 28.8 percent increase to 203,065 people, now ranked 3rd and swapping places with Benton County.
Fayetteville and Springdale in Washington County are now the 3rd and 4th largest cities in the state with 73,580 and 69,797 people, respectively. Springdale's 52.4% increase added nearly 24,000 people  in just 10 years!
Pulaski County (where Little Rock is located) grew by 5.9 percent to 382,748 to retain its place as #1 largest county in the state. The Capital City of Little Rock retained its top ranking with 193,524 residents.
